The primary purpose of this position is to perform all aspects of a customer service representative by transporting and delivering mail and packages to and from multiple areas on campus and perform medical record and/or scheduler duties for our IM-Scheduling Hub and Medical Record areas.� This position will ensure accuracy of data entered into the scheduling system including scheduling transactions, mini-registration, entering demographic and insurance/referral information. The Clinical Service Representative will serve as liaison between consumers (staff, patients, healthcare professionals and general public) and advocates the patients’ needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transport charts, messages etc. to and from Physician Offices or Medical Records as needed.
Confirms appropriate flow of dictations from the transcription into the electronic medical record.
Assists in medical records departments as needed.
Coordinate, obtain, and scan new patient records.
Serves as a liaison between consumers and WUSM; assists consumers in a timely, efficient and courteous manner.� Processes and monitors telephone communication; assesses consumers’ needs, takes messages and directs calls as appropriate.
Takes necessary steps to facilitate customer satisfaction regarding appointment information, referring physician services, referrals/precertifications, primary care physicians, general questions regarding the managed care system and referring appropriate calls to the Patient Information and Referral Services Coordinator.
Schedules, reschedules, cancels, and confirms patient appointments and patient procedures by using the IDX registration system as needed using mini-registration. Obtains complete and accurate demographic and insurance information.
1 year of experience in a medical office setting or related customer service/office experience preferred.
Demonstrated human relations and effective communication and customer service skills.
Working knowledge of insurance, medical terminology and computer skills.

This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.
The hiring range for this position is $12.86 - $15.68 per hour.
