Days and Hours: AY: M-F 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; SMR: M-R 8 am - 5 pm
Reporting to the Dean of Academic Affairs, the Associate Dean of eLearning has primary responsibility for providing administrative leadership and direction for the eLearning Division. The Associate Dean will work collaboratively with faculty, academic and student affairs deans, governance committees and other College stakeholders to establish strategic vision, direction and implementation of digital learning goals. The Division's work encompasses design and development of course and program support for faculty in all modalities, from blended and fully-online to face-to-face instruction, as well as providing students with the programs, services and support that collectively ensure access to an affordable, high-quality education.
1.Develop a vision and implement a strategic plan for the development and growth of an eLearning division. 2.Supervise eLearning division staff. 3.Supervise the coordination of resources for students and faculty to support eLearning. 4.Supervise all training and professional development to faculty members and students engaged in eLearning. 5.Develop innovative enrollment strategies for eLearning program and courses. 6.Liaison with the College webmaster and marketing department regarding distance learning information related to the College website, social media, and publications. 7.Liaison with academic Deans and faculty members regarding policies and procedures related to the development of online and blended courses. 8.Work with academic Deans on implementation of the College's Academic Master Plan. 9.Serve as the College's liaison to external eLearning consortia and partnerships. 10.Implement assessment strategies for the eLearning programs. 11.Inform the College community about the emerging technologies relevant to eLearning. 12.Forecast and manage the eLearning division budget. 13.Lead eLearning staff in the implementation of faculty training, online course development, integration of web-based tools and the fulfillment of annual program goals. 14.Compile an annual report each June regarding outcomes for eLearning. 15.Regularly track and monitor distance education course offerings and outcomes, including but not limited to, number of sections, number of courses, number of programs, number of instructors, etc. 16.Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations. 17.Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources. 18.Perform all other duties as assigned.
1.Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology or related field; Doctorate preferred. 2.Minimum of 5 years of distance learning experience required, community college experience preferred. 3.Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience required, preferably in a community college setting. 4.Demonstrated experience in developing online programs and courses. 5.Demonstrated knowledge of online and enrollment growth strategies. 6.Demonstrated knowledge of trends in distance education, open educational resources, and vendor-provided digital instruction materials. 7.Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. 8.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively while working collaboratively in a team environment.
