Advise undergraduate business students to assist them in meeting their academic goals. Provide encouragement and help students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to take responsibility for their academic choices. Utilize student development and retention theories to enhance advising practice. Interpret IUB and Kelley School policies and procedures regarding enrollment, major selection, course sequencing, and degree requirements. Participate in staff meetings, ongoing professional development opportunities, and functional area teams. Support initiatives, best practices, programs, and innovations in the Kelley School that are designed to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness.
REQUIRED: Master's degree and two years of academic advising, student affairs, teaching, or other closely related experience.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Capability to quickly master technological tools. Ability to communicate and interact effectively in one-on-one and groups settings. Ability to attend to details and maintain accurate records.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Note: This position requires occasional evening and Saturday availability two to five times a year.
