Reporting directly to the Manager of Clinical Clerkship Education, the Coordinator for Clinical Clerkship Education supports the Clerkship Director in the Clinical Departments to ensure high quality education of multiple disciplines through the Clinical University model. Medical Education is a continuum from medical student to clerkship to residency to fellowship. The Clerkship Coordinator is the liaison between all education and key to organize and coordinate the education process. Will also have a collaborative relationship with the residency coordinators. The coordinator plays a major role in the day-to-day administration of the clerkship, acting internships, and other rotations and electives. Acts as a student advisor, advocate, and policy expert for the clerkship. H/She is an important bridge between the medical school and the departments and between the USCSOMG and the regional affiliated sites. The Clerkship Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Manager for Clinical Clerkship Education and the Clinical Department Clerkship Director to assist with the department's education activities. The Clerkship Coordinator ensures that all policies and procedures are followed and ensures compliance with all USCSOMG requirements for the 3rd and 4th year medical student education while organizing, maintaining and coordinating medical student rotations.
