The Building Environmental Services Crew Leader performs under the direction of the Building Environmental Services (BES) CHHS Zone Supervisor.
1. Maintain equipment inventory and repair records. 2. Compile maintenance checklist and report needs to BES Zone Supervisor. 3. Complete individual duties and responsibilities as assigned; check the work of other crew members and correct deficiencies. 4. Test and suggest recommendations on supply and equipment purchases.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, two years of experience demonstrating the ability to operate specialized floor-cleaning or other cleaning equipment and in performing medium to heavy physical work; or three years of experience as a housekeeper; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
1.High school diploma or GED Equivalency. 2.Ability to properly use and care for all manual and power equipment and chemicals required in Building Environmental Services and floor care functions. 4. Supervisory experience desired. 5. Strong customer service orientation. 6. Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation and comprehension) is required. 7.Effective skills in verbal, written and interpersonal communications required. 8.Computer literate. Working understanding of Google Chrome and Microsoft Office suite with a willingness to learn new programs is required. 9.Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds and cultures. 10.Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork with coworkers, visitors, between day and night shift employees in Building Environmental Services and other departments; both within Facilities Management and throughout the entire campus community. 11.The selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
