Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Neuroscience & Cell Biology department at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Among the key duties are the following:
Ability to perform animal handling and mouse behavior analysis.
Transgenic mouse colony maintenance (breeding and genotyping).
Animal perfusion and brain tissue collection / brain sample processing.
Assists in the preparation of reagents used by the research lab staff.
Data analysis and presentation of laboratory research.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Individual with experience in the field of N&CB who has satisfied undergraduate/graduate studies.
Must have knowledge of neurotrophin biology, immunocytochemical and immunoblot techniques, culturing of brain cells, transfection of cells in culture, analysis of protein processing in vivo and in culture, quantitative RTPCR, and analysis of cell proliferation, death and differentiation, signal transduction mechanisms.
Must have the ability to maintain transgenic mice colonies and perform animal handling.
Equipment specific to a Neuroscience and Cell Biology laboratory.
