This is a full-time, 35-hour week, 12-month position in the university Health Center. Provides office support services consistent with the philosophy and needs of the college health services. Reports to the Director of Health Services.
Maintain confidentiality of all health related information in the department.
Serve as main telephone contact for the department; provide information as needed.
Process and maintain all health records and department files.
Process and maintain all student immunization files as required by sate law.
Prepare and type correspondence, forms, spreadsheets and charts for the department.
Process and maintain accurate files for student health insurance claims, including interfacing with doctors, hospitals, laboratories, and insurance broker.
Handle all mailings; distribute mail.
Maintain records of financial transactions and make appropriate deposits.
Track and monitor expenditures, and reconcile departmental budget monthly.
Maintain supply inventory, prepare purchase order requests and check requisitions.
Process and maintain accurate files for all campus accident reports.
Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist with coordination, scheduling and preparation of outreach events, as needed.
High school diploma, some college preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality as required by HIPAA and FERPA
Demonstrated office and secretarial skills, such as phones, correspondence, mailings, scheduling, filing, use of office machines, etc.
Successful experience in a support position requiring excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, accuracy, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.
Strong computer skills, including MS office (Word and Excel required) and e-mail; experience in database applications preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed.
