The Division of Bioethics, Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington is recruiting a full time Assistant Professor without tenure (due to funding). This position would be multi-year appointments over a 12-month service period. Responsibilities will include working with other Center/Division faculty on collaborative research projects and pursuing independent research projects related to pediatric bioethics. Candidates will participate in mentoring postdoctoral fellows and will have opportunity for participation in teaching as well as ethics consultations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for adjunct appointment in the Department of Bioethics and Humanities, and in the candidate's primary clinical or academic discipline. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2019.
This position requires that candidate holds a doctoral degree in discipline relevant to Bioethics (MD, PhD, JD or foreign equivalent) by the time of appointment.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent.
The successful candidate will also have an established publication record, as well as experience with social science research.
