The department's vision is to create a premier HR organization whose staff members are dedicated to the goal of working together to provide the highest possible quality of services in carrying out its mission.UW Medicine Human Resources has an outstanding full time opportunity for a Human Resource Consultant Assistant 1 (HRCA1) based at Harborview Medical Center.The Human Resources Consultant Assistant I (HRCA I) will report to either the HR Office Manager or designated Supervisor, and is the front line customer facing role in our Employee Relations and Nursing Recruitment Office at Harborview Medical Center. Under general supervision, this position will perform clerical human resources tasks such as explaining and applying human resource rules, policies, regulations, or procedures; processing and ensuring the accuracy of human resource documents and records. The HRCA1 performs specialized clerical tasks in support of the HMC Human Resources Team that is responsible for a broad range of human resource related issues including employee relations, labor relations and recruitment. These tasks will include front line public relations, support for recruitment, preparation of correspondence, word processing documents, reports, etc., preparation of customer service tools and materials, and other assigned clerical duties. Respond to client/employee questions and requests for information, and assist clients with applicant referrals.Respond to client/public inquiries regarding a broad range of Human Resources topics. Provide troubleshooting and/or research, elicit sufficient information for problem resolution, and ensure follow up response.Prepare word processing documents, reports, correspondence, computer reports, emails, personnel document filing, database entry, and record maintenance in support of the Service Teams. Process new employee files, and maintain office files.Respond to email and voice mail regularly throughout the workday. In the absence of staff, check incoming mail and messages, and handle or refer items as appropriate. Respond to client calls as requested by the Human Resources staff.Maintain the organization, presentation and accuracy of employee medical files. Participate in annual employee medical file audits.Participate in regularly scheduled service team and Human Resources staff meetings.Coordinate service awards program, including the verification of anniversary dates, award distribution, and event support.Manage meeting room reservations and coordinate meeting set up for HR Consultants and Leave Specialists.Keep office area (closets, supply drawers, etc.) organized.Keep and maintain inventory of office supplies.Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Minimum 2 years experience in a client facing/front line customer service position in healthcare, office, hospitality and/or retail environments.Exceptionally strong customer service skills.Prompt and regular attendance.Proficient computer knowledge (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet and database software, and PowerPoint).Experience exercising a high level of confidentiality and disseminating sensitive information.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30Application Process:The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
