Coaching (40%) • Assist Director in all aspects of developing and maintaining a competitive Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Program within the NCAA and Big Ten Conference. • Instruct and teach student-athletes in fundamentals of event technique and collaborate with strength trainers on planning and executing strength training. • Plan and execute practice and competition plans.
Recruiting (40%) • Evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to the University of Minnesota whose athletic skills make them highly competitive in the Big Ten and whose academic abilities make them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from the University of Minnesota.
Administration (20%) • Perform administrative responsibilities, including assisting in Facility Management, Operations, and duties as assigned. • Attend continuing education designed to further event and sport knowledge base. • Assist in monitoring the academic performance of student-athletes to help them achieve full potential. • Provide opportunities for student-athletes to develop life and leadership skills. • Represent in a positive fashion the University and its athletic programs in private and public forums. • Establish and maintain effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, booster clubs, alumni, high school coaches, media and the general public. • Commit to adhering to all rules and regulations of the Department, the University, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA. • Assist in advancing the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan including its commitment to equity and diversity.
Salary Range:$43,000 - $48,000 annually
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required Experience coaching the Multi-event, High Jump, and/ or Pole Vault at the collegiate level
Preferred qualifications: Experience working with a Division I Track and Field Program
