FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION: NURSING EDUCATOR (ADN) IN PSYCHIATRIC/ MENTAL HEALTH: Division of Health Professions, Associate Degree in Nursing Option; MCCC/MTA Unit Position
Anticipated start date: Spring Semester 2019, subject to funding availability
The nursing faculty is a creative, knowledgeable, and flexible individual who provides classroom and clinical instruction in psychiatric/mental health nursing for assigned courses in the associate degree nursing option.
The faculty works with the program administrator and other faculty in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program, and participates in college service as well as student advisement.
The faculty is committed to inclusive excellence, diversity, and continuous professional improvement.
Master's degree in Nursing required.
Hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing.
Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience in psychiatric/ mental health nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five (5) years.
At least five (5) years full time experience in clinical nursing required.
Able to teach within, and contribute positively to a diverse, multi-ethnic,
multi-cultural, student population, and higher education environment (e.g. community college).
Demonstrated currency in professional discipline through continuing education, professional development or scholarly activity.
Experience in collaborative work environments.
Master's Degree in Nursing Education.
Knowledge of curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; including evidence of competence in employing instructional methods and techniques appropriate to different learning styles.
Knowledge of test item analysis.
Experience in planning, implementation, and evaluation of student experiences.
Post-secondary clinical or classroom teaching experience in Associate Degree Nursing and/or Practical Nursing.
Post-secondary clinical or classroom teaching experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
Post-secondary clinical or classroom teaching experience in nursing. Experience with integrating the use of learning management systems technology into the curriculum is preferred (e.g. Blackboard).
Understanding of, and commitment to the role of the community college in higher education.
SALARY: Anticipated starting salary range is $44,874.00 - $67,738.00 per academic year; complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
