Major Duties: General summary: This position is responsible for coordination of activities, calendar, budget, and executive administrative functions for the General Manager of WMUK 102.1 FM, Western Michigan University's NPR member station.- Oversees day-to-day operations and implements strategic plans for the department in coordination with the supervisor.- Directs and administers programs, projects, and processes, including but not limited to listener donations via Allegiance donor database or comparable CRM systems.- Provides lead budgetary support for the department. Prepares and analyzes budget reports, monitors, tracks, reconciles, forecasts, and recommends budget allocations.- Performs executive administrative tasks for the department including assisting with legal agreements, service contracts, and billing.- Serves as liaison within and outside of the University regarding operations, facilities, personnel, purchasing, etc.- Initiates correspondence and coordinates events for the department.- Develops departmental policies and procedures. Interprets policies and procedures for various customers and responds independently to inquiries.- Conducts analyses. Coordinates the collection and preparation of various reports and records.- Updates the content of WMUK's Open (Public) Records webpage.- Ensures that FCC Public File and other regulatory documents are updated and maintained in a timely manner.- Assists with execution of station pledge drives, including but not limited to assisting with member correspondence, recordkeeping and response mailings.- May supervise staff and student employees and provide guidance and direction if needed.
Minimum Qualifications: - Post high school training or education.- Five years' relevant experience in budgetary oversight and office management, including creating, tracking and reconciling budgets. - Advanced office software skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.- Proficiency with using and querying databases and entering budget data.- Experience monitoring and reconciling budgets. - Experience providing guidance to students or other employees.
