Working Title: Associate Student Services Coordinator
Appointment Type: AS-Renewable
The Events and Activities Coordinator will work directly with the Career Services team to manage, coordinate logistics and execute many of the events hosted by Career Services. This position requires direct contact with employers, students, and alumni. Additionally, this position will provide management for all media and marketing efforts, provide office and administrative support for Career Services, and supervise, train, and lead student workers.
This individual will be required to take initiative and work independently with a high level of energy. A strong interest in student development, eagerness to assist others, and learn new skills is crucial to success in this role. Willingness to collaborate, be flexible and have a sense of humor are all attributes that this candidate should possess.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Qualifications Required: A bachelor's degree is required. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, which may include employers, staff, faculty, alumni and students. Excellent writing skills. Possess previous experience coordinating, managing and executing events. Demonstrated experience recruiting, supervising, leading, and managing individuals. Must be highly organized and have demonstrated ability to manage time effectively to meet competing demands of a multi-faceted day. Demonstrated experience working with inside and outside constituents and developing relationships with internal and external partners. Knowledge of and enthusiasm for working with technology.
Qualifications Preferred: A master's degree is preferred. It is preferred, but not required, that candidates possess previous experience working on a college campus, managing multiple events congruently, and working within a team environment. Possess basic understanding of the student development process. Experience training and supervising student employees and/or volunteers.
