Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures in Alzheimer's research laboratory. Procedures include, but not limited to DNA/RNA/Protein extraction, quantitative PCR, molecular cloning, cell culture techniques, IP, western blotting, genotyping, mouse handling, necropsy/tissue handling, , histology, routine lab maintenance and other weekly related tasks (i.e, participating and presenting scientific results, attention to details, proficiency in experimental design with proper controls; computer entry; thorough record keeping; etc).
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree, plus 1 year in a laboratory environment.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Basic knowledge of chemistry and biology. Good general math skills. Basic computer skills and basic knowledge of scientific instrumentation. Able to work on multiple tasks, and work well with people. Proficient with molecular/PCR techniques, animal handling/necropsy, and histology.
Degree in science (e.g., Biology/Chemistry/Biotechnology, Neurobiology).
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Requires reliable attendance, remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time, repetitive motions, constant handling of scientific instruments and computers, detailed visual interpretations and accuracy.
