Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Psychiatry is recruiting new tenure-track faculty at the junior level who study the mechanisms of psychiatric, substance use, and major biomedical disorders by using molecular genetics/genomics, genetic epidemiology, and statistical methods and software to analyze genetic data. We aim to understand the interaction of genetic, environmental and developmental factors in mental health.
Applicants must have an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree with training in genetics, psychology, psychiatry, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field. External research funding is also desired. In addition to a strong, funded research program, quality of research and fit within the department to expand existing expertise are important considerations. Applicants with expertise in statistical genetics, molecular genetics, or bioinformatics relevant to complex neuropsychiatric disorders are especially encouraged to apply.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Applicants must have an MD, PhD or equivalent with training in genetics, psychiatry, psychology, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field, external research funding is also desired. This position will help to expand existing expertise in the department. Obtaining genomic data from several affected individuals with psychiatric disorders that are seen in our department is an important initiative to develop future treatments of psychiatric patients.
