Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II for the Child & Adolescent Services – School Based Program at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The Mental Health Clinician II coordinates and provides comprehensive mental health care and related services to children and adolescents in schools. Assists in the development of treatment plans, including referral for appropriate level of mental health services.
Assumes overall case management responsibilities for assigned clients including coordination of treatment, scheduling of groups, and liaison with community agencies.
Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy as clinically indicated to assigned clients, including children and adolescents (5-18 years).
Involves students and/or family in developing achievable and understandable clinical treatment plans in accordance with accepted professional standards and University Behavioral Health Care standards.
Advocates for appropriate resources for clients and families based on assessed needs in accordance with professionally accepted standards.
Collaborates effectively with team members, school personnel, and other referral sources to provide appropriate treatment and care.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in a mental health discipline plus two (2) years post master's experience in the mental health field, or Doctorate Degree.
Licensed in New Jersey to provide mental health services as an independent practitioner (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, psychology license).
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record for outreach.
Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish).
Position requires flexible scheduling including evening and Saturday hours, on occasion.
