What skills will you master?
As an Administrative Assistant in Nursing Research, Quality, and Innovation you will play a critical role in providing high level support to the director. This department serves the entire nursing community, whether that is at an Ambulatory Care site, in Home Care, or inpatient unit at the hospital. You will be a part of a team that leads quality improvement projects, coordinates regulatory readiness efforts, creates quality improvement reports, and partners with nursing leaders across the organization to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and families. To set yourself apart as an ideal candidate, demonstrating attention to detail and showing the ability to multitask and handle multiple job responsibilities simultaneously will go a long way. In addition to these skills, in this role you will:
Effectively run the daily electronic calendar of staff in the department.
Answer, screen, handle and/or route all program business telephone, fax and email communications. Track messages and assist with responses.
Word process/format/edit a variety of documents including agendas, minutes, manuscripts, abstracts, protocols, presentations, policies, guidelines, etc.
Maintain and track nursing and institutional policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Provide daily administrative and office support for the department as requested.
Help prepare and send communication to large nursing audiences.
Organize and save documents electronically for large nursing audiences.
Provide data entry into national databases.
Create, maintain, and manage output of electronic surveys.
Support special programs and events for Nursing Services.
Prepare and edit documents as delegated.
Update and maintain websites as needed.
Support shared governance committees by working closely with committee chairs.
Provide cross coverage for other administrative assistants as needed.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum three years relevant office experience.
Shown ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and produce detailed and accurate work.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Quick to learn, synthesize, and apply new subject matter.
Efficient and enjoys detailed work such as tracking policies and procedures.
Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience with website design.
What will your work schedule look like?
General operating hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. However, we can be flexible in the shift you work.
The majority of your training will take place on the job within this department, but additional training may occur in other locations as needed.
