The Office of Student Conduct (OSC) seeks to become a preeminent student conduct unit that uses innovative, high-impact practices and interventions to educate students, facilitate ethical development and learning, promote a safe campus living and learning environment, and maintain high standards of student conduct at the Virginia State University (VSU). It is the mission of OSC to resolve allegations of misconduct under the Universityâs Code of Conduct within a student conduct process that is fair, equitable, educational, and motivational for studentsâ learning and development. Essential to the mission of VSU is enhancing the development of character, integrity, personal and social responsibility to foster safe, healthy, inclusive, and supportive communities at VSU DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a strategic plan and operational goals for the Department of Student Conduct in alignment with the Universityâs mission and budgeted funds. Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Director of Student Conduct oversees all non-academic misconduct adjudication and resolution that includes but not limited to: on and off-campus student cases, group cases, peer reported cases, sexual misconduct and non-discrimination policy violations. The Director will work closely with the VSU Department of Police Department, Residence Life & Housing, Student Health, Student Activities, Title IX Coordinator and University Legal Counsel. The Director will develop policies and procedures that allow for effective and efficient communication in the division and campus community. The Director will be responsible for managing and supervising staff, design and implement processes that enhance efficiency, and invest in the educational outcomes of the conduct process. This position will serve in the on-call rotation for the Office of the Dean of Students.
