At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Staff Assistant is a valuable member of our team, who provides administrative support and has the ability to interface with all levels of management throughout the hospital.
Description of Duties:
Manage and provide access to Press Ganey Online as well as Allegiance/Maritiz CX and conduct training for clinicians and department managers.
Create data entry tools using Allegiance/Maritiz CX to help departments discover opportunities for improvement and recognize achievement.
Utilize Press Ganey Online to create patient satisfaction and HCAPHS monthly, quarterly and yearly patient reports.
Create and order training materials such as best practices reports, forms, and audits/roundings.
Assist with programs, presentations, contest, displays, etc. that recognize area/staff that make improvements in patient experience.
Attend various patient satisfaction group meetings, present satisfaction survey scores and assist with improvement initiatives to increase patient satisfaction.
Respond to special requests and concerns from patients and staff regarding surveys. Independently research and resolve issues.
Create and distribute weekly comment reports and help users connect comments to individual encounters as needed as well as summarize the positive to negative comments monthly.
Identify comments that are exceptionally concerning, research encounter information and inform Patient Advocacy.
Train and supervise customer relations volunteers who survey patients to gather feedback to evaluate the success of patient satisfaction improvement initiatives.
Prepare annual budgets, create Lawson requisitions, track P-card expenditures, manage the administrator's calendar, schedule meetings.
Create and maintain Customer Relations and Volunteer Services monthly report.
Provide office support for both Customer Relations and Volunteer Services.
Assist with the reviewing and processing of volunteer applications.
Assist with the starting of new volunteers including distribution of uniforms, IDs, log in and out process and orientation.
Troubleshooting issues that arise with volunteer applications, log in kiosk, volunteer database, etc.
Conduct new volunteer orientation in the absence of the Assistant Director of Volunteer Services.
Conduct patient and staff interviews on hospital units.
Required Qualifications: Associates degree, five years experience in a hospital setting or experience with customer relations.
Excellent communication skills are required — strong computer skills, especially, Microsoft Word and Excel and a basic understanding of statistics.
