The primary purpose of St. Cloud State's American Indian Center is to provide services and programs to support American Indian Students in completing their academic degree and enriching the learning environment of the university. To achieve the mission, the American Indian Center utilizes both internal and external resources to create educational and personal opportunities that empower student success. Additionally, the center's outreach activities promote awareness, better understanding, and sensitivity to American Indian Cultures. The American Indian Center advances campus diversity and dialogue by facilitating the inclusion of American Indian perspectives. The Director provides leadership to achieving the mission and goals of the American Indian Center.
Provide visionary leadership and management for the American Indian Center. Develop and implement the strategic plan, an annual work plan, and initiatives for the American Indian Center.
Direct and lead in the development and implementation of student engagement programs and services, including academic, personal, social, and student leadership initiatives for American Indian students specifically.
Develop and maintain relationships with campus departments and external groups to provide recruitment, retention and outreach programs to current and prospective American Indian students.
Provide leadership in the selection, training, supervision and evaluation of undergraduate student employees and graduate student assistants.
Responsible for the management of department financial resources.
Provide leadership in the implementation of assessment of the various programs and services provided by the American Indian Center.
Serve on University and division committees, enrollment taskforces, and working groups as appointed by Supervisor and/or as needed.
Complete additional duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Life and Development to meet departmental, division, and university needs.
