Support and advance the international dimension of The Ohio State University by providing professional coordination of faculty-led education abroad programs of high curricular relevance for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) and the Office of International Affairs (OIA); coordinate, develop agendas, and participate in meetings with Ohio State faculty, chairs, college education abroad liaisons, and other stakeholders to answer questions and provide guidance and advice on the creation of new, alternate year, and re-occurring faculty-led education abroad programs; coordinate and ensure operational excellence for faculty-led education abroad programs; implement re-occurring academic international opportunities for Ohio State students in conjunction with college education abroad liaison, departments, faculty, and chairs; negotiate prices with travel service providers, host institutions located throughout the world, write specifications for bid-eligible programs, develop program budgets for an assigned portfolio of faculty-led programs, and manage fiscal arrangements with providers, host institutions, and faculty directors. Seek to gain a background knowledge-base on best practices in faculty-led education abroad programming, concepts and trends, global competencies, and inclusive education abroad advising and programming; coordinate recruitment for assigned portfolio to ensure diverse participation; coordinate admission process and deliver specialized orientation materials to admitted students and faculty leaders; ensure compliance with unit and University risk, legal, and fiscal expectations; monitor and troubleshoot programs while in progress, while simultaneously communicating with multiple stakeholders; respond to emergencies in accordance with established OIA and University protocols; serve as a member of the OIA Education Abroad team.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in program/project planning and administration; excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills; proven ability to problem solve and create working conditions and relationships conducive to collaboration, diversity, and inclusivity.
Familiarity with information, resources, and procedures for international travel; experience with faculty; experience studying or living abroad; experience or degree in agriculture, environmental sciences, or food science.
Target Salary: $21.25 - $22.00 Hourly
