Review purchase requisitions which includes independently reviewing supplier contracts and related policy requirements to determine compliance with incoming requisitions and change orders. Evaluate competitive quotes to determine the overall best offer. Determine the need to bid versus submit a Request for Proposal; redirect spend to appropriate vendor. Purchase equipment, supplies, and services for the University. In collaboration with management and business partners, identify workflow or service issues; recommend and implement process changes. Partner with Category Leads, Accounts Payable and others to understand contract, business process or other changes.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
Required Experience: At least 2 years' related work and customer service experience, including experience administering moderately complex financial business processes.
Preferred Experience: At least 2 years' related work and customer service experience in a Purchasing or Accounts Payable organization. Experience within a higher education setting.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent judgment and independent decision making skills. Excellent verbal, written, relationship-building, and customer service skills with all audiences. Demonstrated ability to review and synthesize disparate business information to inform decision making. Demonstrated ability to understand the procure to pay process. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and work in a deadline-driven environment. Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint and Excel. Proven ability to understand financial concepts and comply with financial policies.
