The Department of Economics [https://economics.ucsc.edu] within the Social Sciences Division at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time Lecturers who may be appointed to teach courses in the following areas: Economics - microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, econometrics, applied micro, and applied macro; Business - marketing, finance, business strategy, and entrepreneurship; Accounting - financial, managerial, cost, accounting information systems, auditing, taxation, and advanced accounting.
Teaching assignments may be at the undergraduate or graduate levels and the selected candidates must be able to work with students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds.
Applicants with any of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
College or university-level teaching experience (as the instructor of record)
Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in economics or related field (applicable to those interested in teaching economics courses)
Successful experience teaching large lecture courses
Work experience in a sector relevant to advertised course topics

ACADEMIC TITLE Lecturer
SALARY Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular courses the Lecturer is appointed to teach. Estimated range of $9,000 - $11,000 per standard 5-unit course. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.
CPA, MBA, or MA/MS degree in economics, business, or a field relevant to advertised course topics (or equivalent foreign degree) at the time of application.
Work or research experience in accounting, business or economics.
Teaching experience demonstrated by college level teaching, TA experience, research presentations, or professional development training seminars.
POSITION AVAILABLE Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.
