The Department of Physics, Geology & Engineering seeks applications for a Non-Tenure Track Renewable Lecturer /Academic Advisor beginning Fall 2019.
The department offers baccalaureate degrees in Physics, Geology, and three specialties in Engineering Technology as well as pre-engineering transfer programs. The faculty of the department includes 13 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 11 full-time lecturers and a number of part-time faculty.

Primary Responsibilities :
In addition to advising, the individual hired will teach typically 1-2 courses per semester during the academic year, depending on advising loads. In addition, participation in orientation and recruiting events, advising luncheons, and Master Advisor training is required. This is an academic year appointment with some summer orientation duties covered by a separate stipend.
A Master's Degree in any of the disciplines related to the department programs (Physics, Astronomy, Geology or Engineering Technology) is required; preference will be given to candidates in physics; prior advising experience is preferred; some teaching experience at the college level is required. Applicants must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with SAP (NKU's information system) and/or EAB-Student Success Collaborative is desirable. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations is required.
