The Department of leadership Studies and Adult Education in the College of Education at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University invites applications for a tenure-track, nine month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor as defined by the North Carolina A&T State University (N. C. A&T) Faculty Handbook. The successful applicant will begin August, 2019, and will be expected to assume a central role in teaching graduate level courses in adult education, advising students, and engaging in an active research agenda. The program also follows professional standards devised by the Commission of Professors of Adult Education.
The Master's degree program in Adult Education prepares professionals to become leaders for adult learners in business, for -profit and non-profit organizations, community colleges, and four-year institutions of higher education. Courses are offered in the evenings to accommodate the professional development needs of adult learners and are delivered online/distance and in-class.
Responsibilities : 1.Teach a range of graduate courses in adult education, higher education and community college leadership, organizational theory and design, and research 2.Provide online/distance and in-class instructional delivery 3.Design, teach, and facilitate small and large group experiential learning activities in blended learning environments 4.Participate in thesis advisements and serve on thesis committees 5.Contribute to the scholarly research of the Adult Education program, the College of Education and the University community 6.Procure extramural grant funding 7.Conduct presentations at state, regional, national, and international professional meetings and conferences 8.Serve on department, college, and university committees and participate in community service activities as assigned

We seek a colleague with the demonstrated ability to produce theoretically driven and practically relevant research in Adult Education. The position requires an earned doctorate in Adult Education or an earned doctorate in a closely related discipline with a specialization in Adult Education by the date of appointment.
A successful candidate is expected to have the following:
- An Earned doctoral degree in Adult Education, or an earned doctorate in a closely related discipline with a specialization in Adult Education from an accredited university. - 2 to 5 years of teaching experience with adult learners - Familiarity and utilization of multi-media tools - Demonstrated expertise in research methodology - Record of scholarly publications aligned with the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor - Knowledge of pertinent theories and practices as related to adult learning - Experience with the development of online/distance education courses
