Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming or closely related area; or
Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Networking Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for a wide variety of Computer Systems Administration duties, including:
Research, implementation maintenance and troubleshooting of various Linux configurations.
Installation and configuration of servers and/or virtual servers and server based applications in various Linux operating systems, such as RHEL and CentOS in physical, virtual and cloud environments, to help keep these machines and applications up to date, secure and performing optimally.
Patching, configuring, securing, and monitoring various server installations.
Work with other members and units of Information Technology Services to implement other enterprise wide applications and services, and to build and maintain an infrastructure from which these services and applications will be delivered.
Email system administration experience is strongly desired.
Experience in the following areas: Email administration, Google Apps Administrator, Linux server administration, web server administration, content management systems, course management systems preferred.
Experience in the area of Web development using Tomcat, Java, Python, PHP or Ruby preferred.
