Responsible for conducting clinical assessment and treatment for children (ages 12 months to 21 years with complex medical and developmental histories) with feeding problems, primarily oral aversion, inadequate weight gain, difficulty chewing, and selective eating. Also responsible for completing appropriate documentation in the electronic medical record (MiChart).
Conducts intake interviews and functional assessments/analyses.
Coordinates and collaborates with other healthcare providers (e.g., physicians, dietitians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, social workers).
Coordinates and collaborates with daycare providers and school personnel as appropriate.
Designs and conducts behavioral feeding interventions (delivered individually in person and via telehealth as well as possibly in group format).
Documents all patient contacts.
Suggests options for improving quality of care, identifies potential problems, recommends and implements solutions, and collaborates in the development of new techniques/approaches to patient care.
Collects, analyzes, and interprets patient assessment and treatment data.
Trains and supervises others (as needed) in equipment operation, data collection and analysis, and assessment and treatment techniques. If eligible, provides supervision for Registered Behavior Technicians and Board Certified Behavior Analyst candidates.
May co-author publications and co-present results with clinical supervisor at meetings and/or conferences.
Requires a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology (or closely related field) and a behavioral orientation. A Master’s Limited License in Psychology in the state of Michigan is required. We will consider candidates who are license eligible
Must be committed to working in interdisciplinary teams. BCBA or BCBA-eligible highly preferred. Experience working with children with feeding problems and serious medical and/or developmental issues is also highly preferred. Training in the assessment and treatment of feeding disorders will be provided as necessary.
