The Coordinator forHousing Assignments will report to the Director of Housing Assignments and willbe responsible for providing assistance in student room assignmentprocesses. The housing system comprises31 residence halls with a capacity of 6,503 students. Housing Assignments isresponsible for meeting occupancy and wait-list targets to ensure financialviability of the housing and residential education program. The programcoordinator will provide support for the management of Vanderbilt's housingassignment software package, The Housing Director (THD), and will collaboratewith Student Access Services to manage the reasonable accommodations processfor students seeking housing accommodations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Student Housing AssignmentProcesses
Assist with all studentroom assignments processes, including incoming first-year students, transferstudents, and upperclass students
Work in collaborationwith Student Access Services to manage the reasonable accommodations process
Manage room assignmentprocesses for May and summer sessions
Assist with managementof housing transitions between all terms
Communicate withstudents and their families
Assist with thedevelopment of policies and room assignment process procedures
Respond promptly tostudent, family, faculty, and staff requests for housing assistance
Responsible forassisting with the management of The Housing Director (THD), includingapplication management, room assignment process design and management, generalreport design, room condition reports, maintenance requests, and staff training
Assist with themanagement of the off-campus housing referral website
Assist with assessmentprojects

Attend HousingAssignments staff meetings; participate in divisional and departmentalprofessional development programs; serve on divisional and university taskforces
Represent the HousingOffice and Vanderbilt on department and university committees
Assume otherresponsibilities as assigned
Profile of an Ideal Candidate
A Bachelor's Degree inan appropriate area of specialization from an accredited institution of highereducation is necessary
A Master's Degree inhigher education administration from an accredited institution of highereducation is preferred
At least 2 years ofrelevant professional experience in a university housing office
Experience in studentaffairs or equivalent combination of education, training, and experiencecombined
Strong written andverbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability tocounsel and work effectively with college students and their families
Excellent and effectivecommunication skills in person, telephone and email
Strong organizationaland planning skills
Robust Excel skills
Knowledge ofAdirondack's Housing Director software (THD)
