Position Summary: Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Cancer Center. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Acts as a role model to students and Clinical Nurse's new to the unit. Functions as a (PCC)Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager.

Required Qualifications: 1 year current oncology and chemotherapy experience requiredAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environmentAbility to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environmentAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidaysAll external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in NursingBasic Life SupportChemotherapy administration experienceCurrent California RN licenseDemonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniquesDemonstrated strong customer service skillsKnowledge and practice of age related acuity levelsKnowledge and practice of body mechanicsMinimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and familiesChemotherapy CertificationExperience in the acute care hospital or outpatient cancer centersPrevious Case Management experienceUnderstanding of JCAHO requirements
