This position is responsible for technical and analytical work in developing, designing, and/or supporting applications for the Comptroller’s Office. The employee participates in the development of solutions using technical expertise for day-to-day problems to include maintenance, modification or development of complex inter-related applications/solutions.

The Comptroller's Office supports the University’s mission by providing an effective and efficient accounting operation and quality fiscal support to the students, faculty, and staff of the University, and timely, accurate financial information to State, Federal, and University administrators.
The Comptroller’s management team oversees University Accounting (Accounts Payable, Capital Improvements, Cash Management, Gifts Accounting, Tax Reporting and Compliance, Travel Services), Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, Payroll, Treasurer and Student Accounts, and Financial Systems Development.

- Bachelor's degree with nine credit hours in programming and one year of experience in business application consulting or development; or equivalent combination of training and experience. - Experience in developing business, functional and technical process flows, data flows, and workflows. - Experience in creating business and functional requirements; organizing, translating and simplifying requirements; and communicating requirements to project teams and project sponsors. - Experience participating in project teams using political acumen, tact, and diplomacy to document and address workflow and process inefficiencies, system and technical requirements, and system dependencies.
- Experience in Banner. - Experience with financial aid software systems or enterprise student information systems operations and practices including configuration, objects, processes, functions and process flow design. - Experience independently researching, compiling and analyzing data from a variety of sources, to identify and reconcile anomalies; to work with multiple data sources to reconcile records and processes across various database systems; and to recognize actual from potential data problems and consequences and take appropriate actions. - Experience comprehending, interpreting, and applying policies in a higher education environment. - Knowledge of the data security and privacy challenges unique to Financial Aid and Scholarships. - Experience working with federal, state and university regulations related to aid eligibility, delivery and reporting with an understanding of the underlying business and system processes.
