Performs configuration and asset management technical activities related to maintaining the Asset and Configuration Management Database System, ServiceNow. Use ServiceNow to record, map, monitor, and audit all configuration items. Support an IT Service Management team in the operations, processes and procedures that are core to configuration management best practices that includes Change Management, Problem Management and Incident Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs administrative and technical tasks related to ServiceNow Discovery, Mapping, and other data sources for the CMDB and Asset systems. Remediates discovery errors, investigates connectivity issues, and monitors performance for all systems related to Asset & Configuration Management.
Assist with identifying which configuration items need to be managed and controlled from the basis of Asset, Configuration Management, and Inventory.
Proposes and agrees with Asset and Configuration Manager CIs to be uniquely identified with naming conventions.
Researches and remediates data-quality issues for Asset and Configuration items.
Performs audits and running reports for Asset and CMDB data. Ensures that data is accurately reflected in the Asset and CMDB systems.
Responds to user inquiries, assists in resolving Asset and CMDB tickets and service requests.
Participates in other IT Service Management process initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related degree; OR an Associates degree with two (2) years' experience; OR four (4) years of basic to intermediate level computer hardware related experience. Possesses working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures and contributes through support, using established processes, methods, and systems.
The ideal candidate should have a strong working knowledge of ITIL v3. Foundation certification desired. 2-4 years of experience supporting/managing a Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Prior hands on experience with Problem, Change, Incident and Asset Management. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a customer service attitude, and the ability to work well in a team oriented environment.Other desired skills include; fundamental knowledge of working in a Data Center environment. In addition, the successful candidate will provide experience in critical areas of IT@UC, Enterprise Shared Services, such as, customer service and process improvement.
