Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM) is searching for a Manager of Student Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion. The Manager of Student Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion provides vision and strategic direction for student activities and special events, student leadership development, and diversity and inclusion services. In addition, this position is primarily responsible for the budget allocation and management of the Medical Student Council, GCSOM clubs and national organizations, and MD classes. This position is the Office of Student Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion operations liaison with various departmental resources on campus and will coordinate student leadership initiatives and develop unique programs and communication strategies to promote cultural competency and inclusion.
The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in student counseling; student development theory; policy and program development; and technology applications.
A master’s degree in higher education, counseling, or social work is required in addition to a minimum of three years progressive responsibility within higher education. Experience with student and academic affairs and diversity in a higher education institution or medical school is preferred.
