OSU-Cascades in Bend, Oregon invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track full/part-time Faculty Research Assistant positions. The intention of this pool is to collect applications for current or future opportunities and does not necessarily imply a position is available at this time.
The Faculty Research Assistant (FRA) will work on research and evaluation projects under the guidance of faculty at OSU-Cascades (e.g., Drs. Shannon Lipscomb and Brianne Kothari) who are conducting research on child, family, and community resilience. Examples of topics include: school readiness among children impacted by trauma, resilience-focused professional development, evaluation of resilience-building programs, measurement of resilience, and others. FRAs will work on one or more specific and time-limited projects, as part of a team with partners in the Central Oregon community as well as on campus at OSU-Cascades. Specific responsibilities vary according to the project, and include all phases of the research process, from grant writing and research design to implementation to analysis and dissemination.
OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon, is a branch campus of Oregon State University. Established in 2001, the university currently enrolls more than 1,100 students in bachelor's and master's degree programs. The campus expanded to a four-year university in 2015, and opened its new campus in 2016. The branch campus has ambitious enrollment goals to reach 3,000 to 5,000 students by 2025. OSU-Cascades is engaged in building a culturally diverse and community-centric educational environment.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Child Development, Human Development and Family Sciences, Education, Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or other closely related field.
Excellent written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple demands.
Careful attention to detail.
Statistical and data management experience.
Ability to write research reports and papers, grant reports, and create presentations Other skills related to the research process (research design, data collection, merging data sets, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, IRB documents, etc.).
Self-directed, strong decision making abilities, motivated, and successful at meeting deadlines. Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team.
The ability to supervise and coordinate undergraduate and graduate students working on the study.
Ability to partner and collaborate with parents, teachers, schools, and other community partners.
Computer related skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, and Internet navigation.
