Summary: Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Health with expertise and specialization in Epidemiology; for a full-time, 12-month/30-credit, tenure track faculty position to begin in August 2019 within the Department of Public Health.
Required Qualifications and Education: A successful applicant will have completed a terminal degree in Epidemiology.
Preferred Qualifications and Education: A degree in public health (MPH). A demonstrated commitment to graduate education (documented experience and teaching excellence), and research-related mentorship of faculty and students. The selected applicant will have a documented commitment to service at various levels including, University, profession, and community and the ability to contribute to a positive work environment in the College and University. Additionally, scholarship through publication and experience with funded research is desired.
Responsibilities: This position is in the Department of Public Health program within the College of Health Professions.
Primarily teach a variety of graduate level courses in epidemiology
Mentor students in individual research projects
Advise students, by assisting in curriculum planning and career searching
Engage in scholarly and service activity as required by the college and university
Serve on a variety of program and college level committees on behalf of public health
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Department/Division: The Department of Public Health is housed within the College of Health Professions. We are located in the rapidly expanding health care corridor of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Opportunities exist for collaboration with faculty from other programs within the University, as well as with health professionals from community institutions, including the Van Andel Research Institute, Spectrum Health, Mercy Health Saint Mary’s, Metro Health, and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
