This position is in the Department of the Faculty Practice Plan and WUCA. The position is located at the Mid Campus Center. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Manages various financial management activities of the Faculty Practice Plan and Washington University Clinical Associates (WUCA), which includes financial reporting, management of physician compensation plans, financial modeling, proforma development, budgeting, and conducting outside practice valuations. Works collaboratively with WUSM Business Directors and FPP senior management team in strategic and financial analyses as requested.� Functions as primary point person for management of Dean’s Expanded Access Initiative program and funding: prepares reports for executive review, manages distribution of funds, reviews project workplans and generates status reports.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts financial analyses related to management and operation of WUCA: completion of monthly financial statements, calculation of physician bonuses, review of practice expenses and monitoring of revenue and AR for each WUCA practice. Functions as liaison with practice managers and physician leaders at each WUCA practice with regard to business items. Administers onboarding of new physicians and practices, including set-up of accounting functions; assists with review of offer letters and employment agreements. Prepares financial proformas for evaluation of new practices.
Assists FPP senior management team with financial projects as needed: leads development of proformas for new business opportunities for WUSM clinical departments, negotiation of business terms with outside entities, calculation of FPP and rent allocation models, development of business plans and proformas for clinical expansion, etc.
Oversees processing of invoices and accounts payable for FPP and WUCA; assists with FPP budgeting, reporting and monitoring of operating expenses for off-site facilities and Center for Advanced Medicine.
Manages distribution of funds associated with Expanded Access Initiative program. Develops funding distribution schedule; works with WUSM Business Directors to develop summary and implementation progress reports for senior administration; identifies barriers to implementation and communicates with senior leadership to provide support.
Assists FPP Business Director with additional business and financial analyses as necessary.
BS in Business, Accounting, or Health Administration or related field with minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and business management areas.
Masters in Business, Accounting or Health Administration, with 5 or more years in health care practice management preferred.
Experience with EPIC reporting preferred.
Familiarity with University accounting and HR systems preferred (AIS, HRMS, WebFocus).
Working knowledge of computer programs including spreadsheet applications; strong analytical skills; professional interpersonal and communication skills with discretionary judgment; experience in planning and business development, accounting and/or financial reporting; ability to meet deadlines and good organizational skills critical.
The hiring range for this position is $63,586 - $82,701 annually.
