Contracting - negotiate and develop contracts using knowledge of applicable policies and procedure, familiar with public laws, codes, statutes, guidelines and requirements that are mandatory in order to translate program requirements into contract terms after consultation with the various contracting parties. The Senior Contracts Specialist will negotiate various aspects of a contract including conducting the appropriate informal or formal bidding processes, requiring the lead role for a cross functional team within the organization.
Practice effective and efficient processes for managing ongoing commercial relationships with vendors including, but not limited to, reporting, billing procedures, renewals, performance and amendments. Identifies, negotiates and resolves problems assuring appropriate and timely correction of contract administration and compliance issues.
Partnership - Establish relationships with internal and external business partners. Internally, the Senior Contracts Specialist will partner with the Contracting Staff and assigned areas of responsibilities by becoming a integral part of those teams. Such activities would include, but are not limited to, appropriate procurement method, developing class specifications/scope of work, and financing options. Externally, the Senior Contracts Specialist will learn how to create better supplier and vendor relationships that exceed industry standards.
