Brody RISE Pre-College Program Counselor-We are looking to recruit one Counselor work with program participants through the Saturday Academy and Afterschool Program. These are Temporary Positions that will last from start date until May and then work in the Month of June and/or July.
Provides direct services through the Guidance Curriculum, Individual Student Planning and Preventive and Responsive Services
Provides program management, system support and accountability
Establishes the counseling program and develops activities and resources to implement and evaluates the program
Involves other staff in making decisions about the counseling program
Provides individual and group counseling services to meet the developmental, preventive and remedial needs of students
Consults with students, parents, other Brody RISE teachers/staff and community personnel to assist in meeting the needs of students
Coordinates all counseling services for students and assists with the coordination and implementation of student services in the Brody RISE Program
Assists other Brody RISE teachers with the Guidance Curriculum
Accurately interprets test results and other student data, as required
Assists teachers with the educational placement of students by using appropriate educational assessment strategies
Adheres to ethical standards of the counseling profession and abides by the laws, policies and procedures that govern schools
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Brody RISE Administration

The Brody RISE Pre-College Program provides academic enrichment and healthcare exposure to learners from diverse backgrounds. In keeping with the Brody School of Medicine's mission, Brody Rise desires to increase the supply of primary care physicians serving the state, improve the health status of citizens in eastern North Carolina and enhance the access of disadvantaged and minority students to a medical education. Brody RISE meets learners where they are, across the spectrum of academic accomplishment. Students participate in exciting activities in STEM with a healthcare focus through the Brody RISE Pre-College Program's After School, Saturday Academy and Summer Program.
