The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester and there are opportunities to teach in the department's evening and on-line undergraduate and graduate programs. Faculty responsibilities include advising students, service to the University, College of Education, Health, and Human Services, the department, and the community, and an active research agenda.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and education.
General Statement of Duties: In consultation with the PA Program Director and the Director of Didactic Education, will coordinate and/or teach didactic courses.
Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include but not limited to: Essential:
Engage in teaching, scholarship, and service activities as defined in the Faculty Manual.
Participate in teaching selected classroom and laboratory classes.
Participate in clinical related activities as designated by the PA Program Director.
Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum for physician assistant education.
Participate in the development, initiation and incorporation of instructional experiences within the curriculum designed to achieve and maintain compliance with ARC-PA standards.
Ensure the development of core knowledge, skills and attitudes requisite to the development of competencies required for the successful completion of board examinations and safe practice at the time of entry to the profession.
Assist with the development of individualized learning objectives intended to facilitate each student's potential to achieve while enrolled in the PA program.
Participate in curriculum design and program development to include, but not limited to, program manuals, instructional materials and learning objectives.
Maintain accurate and appropriate records; assist with periodic accreditation reports, accreditation site visits, and ongoing program evaluation.
Provide supervision, instruction, advice and counsel to students assigned to the didactic phase, and thereby facilitate the students' successful completion of all learning objectives.
Participate in the identification and recruitment of qualified applicants to promote their enrollment as students in the PA Program in collaboration with the Admissions Office and program faculty and staff.
Serve as an 'ambassador' for the PA Program through participation in service activities of the program.
Identify sources for, and participate in, the preparation and implementation of grants and contracts supportive of the activities of the University and PA Program.
Serve on college-wide and PA Program faculty committees when appointed or elected.
Participate in the search process activities of the University and PA Program.
Participate in local, state, and national professional organizations for professional development to ensure program excellence and appropriateness of curriculum and instruction, and its application to clinical instruction.
Conduct site visits.
Attend trainings as required.
Perform any other job related functions as assigned by the Program Director
Current NCCPA certification.
Eligible for PA MA state licensure.
A minimum of three years clinical experience.
Masters degree in Physical Assistant Studies or Doctorate of Medicine (MD) required.
Higher education experience preferred.
Organizational and computer skills.
General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose, goals, and the role of a Director of Clinical Education in a Physician Assistant Program in achieving those goals.
