DUTIES: This position will report directly to the Chair of Medicine and work closely with the Program Directors of the department and Sr. Associate Administrator. The Housestaff Administrator will: - Be a critical liaison between the residency program, subspecialty program and faculty for all research endeavors relating to the Housestaff program. - Will assist the program director, associate program directors and subspecialty program directors in counseling housestaff on program policies and procedures. - Assist program directors in maintaining compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements. - Address day to day issues and respond in a timely manner. - Work with Sr. Associate Administrator and Program Coordinator on retreats, conferences and other events as directed by Chair. - When required will assist in the preparation of surveys and evaluations. - Will assist in the preparation and handling of Medicine Operations, QI and Performance improvement projects relating to housestaff program. - Will assist with Suite R operations as it relates to housestaff program and patient care. - Will attend all meeting relating to the UHB clinical housestaff enterprise. - Advance research projects in response to the requirement of the ACGME. - As directed by the Chair lead the department in the planing, preparation and submission of research projects for new junior faculty and investigators in collaboration with housestaff. - Provide advice and counsel regarding Sponsored Projects Administration as it pertains to developing projects for housestaff. - Monitor and access websites for new grant funding opportunities. - Communicate to division administrators new research and grant opportunities in their respective areas. - Collect, monitor and track all data that could lead to publication and presentation as directed by ACGME for training program. - Assist Chair with research, operations committee meetings as it pertains to Housestaff program. - Maintain complete and accurate data as required. - This position will also work closely with Sr. Associate Administrator of Department, Program and Associate Program Directors, Faculty COM and UHB leadership. (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION) QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Masters degree and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an administrative/supervisory position in an academic medical center or related setting. PREFERRED:: Ph.D degree with grant writing experience, computer literacy, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Should be able to have a faculty appointment in the department.
