Advertised Summary Job Description: The full-time Technician B will join the Cellular Immunotherapy Laboratory at CUMC, and participate in cutting edge immunotherapy clinical trials designed to activate immune system for cancer treatment. Enthusiastic and committed, the technician will need to demonstrate proficiency in working in a clean room environment, using aseptic techniques, with human lymphocytes. S/he will produce and cryopreserve cGMP grade cell lines, calculate dose, use metric system. Assist in design of experiments and protocols, work under supervision and independently. Perform genetic modification of human lymphocytes with different vectors, develop and perform assays on cellular products for functionality and safety. The technician will comply with facility's standard operating procedures and policies, adhere and maintain understanding of regulatory requirements including cGTP, FDA, FACT standards. S/he will participate in all aspects of pre-clinical development of the GMP products, and routine manufacturing activities under approved INDs. The technician will also be expected to perform a variety of techniques independent of direct supervision including qPCR, ELISA and flow cytometry. Perform additional related duties as assigned.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in biology or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Candidates with active State of NY Med Technologist Licensure are encouraged to apply.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed. Organizational skills, ability to work independently and interest in learning new skills and technologies. Must be a team player. Experience with basic laboratory techniques and knowledge of biological sciences.
