Advertised Summary Job Description: The Clinical Coordinator III will be responsible for assisting the daily clinical operations of the Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiology PET laboratory within the Cardiology Division. S/he will triage all clinical questions and concerns from patients, provide education support regarding different cardiac stress protocol, and obtain/review lab results under the direction of the NP or MD. Other responsibilities will include ordering medications, documenting all clinical information in the electronic health record system and monitoring the phlebotomy room and supplies, placing orders as needed. The Clinical Coordinator III will also be expected to perform basic procedures as requested by treating physicians, which may include administering IV medications and radio-isotopes. S/he will perform EKG's, check blood pressure, and conduct phlebotomy for designated patients. In addition, the Clinical Coordinator III will follow up on discharge patient phone calls. The selected candidate will be expected to conform to all applicable HIPAA and safety guidelines. Other duties may be assigned as required.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of nursing experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: BLS and ACLS certification required, BS/BSN. Must be a certified RN with a current NYS license. Must have excellent customer service skills in a high pressure environment. Highly effective written and verbal communication skills necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: Four years of experience in cardiology or med-surgical nursing preferred.
