1.Major Gifts Cultivation and Solicitation for Identified Needs (75%): -Manage a personal portfolio of at least 50 major and leadership level prospective donors. Cultivate, solicit and steward each prospect as needed, maintaining accurate records of moves and showing continual progress toward gifts at these levels. -Coordinate regularly with other Foundation staff, including assistance as needed with corporate and foundation prospects. -Conduct donor research and prospect reviews to identify prospects for Annual Fund and campaign-specific gifts in the $25,000 and above giving range per year from existing or past donors and new prospects. -Develop and execute personalized strategies to cultivate and solicit this range of gifts through written proposals, calls, and face-to-face visits. -Manage strategic events for major gift prospects designed to further the aims of the Foundation. 2.Planned Giving Cultivation and Solicitation (10%): -With assistance from planned giving specialists, cultivate and solicit planned gifts from qualified prospects through written communications, calls, and face-to-face meetings. -Take advantage of opportunities to develop working knowledge of planned giving.
3.Stewardship (15%): -Steward major gift donors through personal touches and invitations to special events. -Coordinate and collaborate with Marketing and Communications staff as well as other appropriate personnel at the college and Foundation Directors to produce publications and materials for supporting resource development and Foundation efforts; -Coordinate with other Foundation staff to develop, implement, and manage a centralized donor stewardship/recognition program for the Foundation. -Maintain timely records of prospect and donor communications/visits in the Foundation donor database. -Ensure thank you letters and other acknowledgement communications for this position's major gift portfolio occur in a timely manner. -Oversee the development of stewardship reports for individual, corporate, and foundation donors, as needed. 4.Develop strong relationships with internal and external constituencies for supporting and forwarding institutional advancement, resource development, and Foundation efforts and associated activities. 5.Complete additional duties and appropriate activities as assigned by the Executive Director or the President.
The Director of Development will help meet campaign, annual, and endowment fundraising goals as set by the Foundation Executive Director and Foundation Board by soliciting gifts through in-person cultivation and solicitation, targeted events, written proposals, and appropriate stewardship of donors.
A Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience with a demonstrated record of success of raising major gifts in the range of $25,000 or more.
