Provides direction and oversight for YSU's newly created Institute for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (IETL). The IETL combines support staff in faculty development, assessment, distance education, and technology to promote evidence-based practices in teaching and assessment. Faculty appointment may be granted in a department aligned with the terminal degree, with rank commensurate with experience based on department and college guidelines.
Master's degree and minimum of five (5) years' experience in higher education, including at least three (3) years of management and supervision. Knowledge of and experience in adult learning, online learning, and assessment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Evidence of collaborative skills. Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
Terminal degree and a minimum of five (5) years as a full-time faculty member or teaching center staff member at an accredited 4-year college or university. Successful university teaching experience and a record of research, service, and scholarship suitable for a tenured faculty appointment in a discipline represented at YSU. Knowledge of and experience in activities related to faculty development, academic processes, curriculum development, program development, and higher education operations. Experience in working in a collective bargaining environment. Demonstrated skill in formulating policy and evaluating and re-engineering operations and procedures.
