The University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Columbia is seeking a student-centered faculty member to serve as the Assistant Dean for Clinical Curriculum and Assessment. The responsibilities of the assistant dean include: 1) working with the School of Medicine registrar regarding M-III and M-IV rotation scheduling, to include oversight of OASIS course listings, attending class meetings, meeting in advisory capacity with individual students (all rising M-IVs, prn with rising M-IIIs. 2) preparation of MSPEs, to include prep work for individual meetings with half of the rising M-IVs, meetings with M-IVs, and editing and finishing letters. 3) oversight of Intersession weeks for M-III class and Capstone week for M-IV class. 4) oversight of M-III Orientation. 5) planning and implementation of annual Gate Exam sessions. 6) availability on an as-needed basis for proctoring NBME subject exams, timely distribution of scores to clerkship directors. 7) attendance at select meetings including the Curriculum Committee and the M3M4 Subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee. 8) planning and implementation of quarterly clerkship directors meetings. 9) preparation of M-III and M-IV curriculum related annual reports (Curriculum Committee retreat).
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
MD/DO, board certified in respective clinical specialty, licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina. Established record of teaching excellence and clinical experience. Ability to teach effectively and work collaboratively with other clinical educators and basic medical scientists. Demonstrated potential for growth in teaching, creative activity, and service.
