STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The College is seeking a committed and innovative instructor to teach a full-time (15 credit hours per semester) schedule of courses in the Business Administration discipline. These courses may include, but are not limited to, accounting, financial services (such as banking), personal financial planning, corporate finance, management, marketing, and taxation. Courses may be held at our Fall River, New Bedford, Attleboro, and Taunton locations and/or in the online environment as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Dean of Business and Information Management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare syllabi and develop curricula to address course and student learning outcomes and General Education competencies as appropriate.
Serve as academic advisor for students.
Post and maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours per week.
Serve on college committees as elected or appointed.
Attend program, division, department, all-college, academic area and committee meetings.
Recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, and library acquisitions to the department chairperson.
Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes.
Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate.
Develop appropriate discipline related courses.
Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in the discipline and the classroom.
Other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required.
Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience at the college/university level, with a preference for those with teaching experience at a community college.
Minimum two (2) years of work experience in business administration or related field, preferably in supervisory or management level positions(s).
Strong background in curricular planning and assessment, as well as demonstrated use of innovative educational technologies to enhance student learning.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
Preference given to candidates with a terminal degree (e.g. PhD, DBA) in a related field, or those nearing completion of a terminal degree.
Entrepreneurial experience encouraged.
Training experience or other demonstrable use of materials and assignments that incorporate international business and multi-cultural perspectives designed to improve the critical thinking, writing, verbal communications, and interpersonal skills of students.
Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning.
Experience with high impact practices, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, and/or online learning.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
POSITION STATUS: Full-time, tenure track, MCCC/MTA unit position with benefits. This position is subject to the 2020 budget appropriation.
Appointment contingent upon satisfactory background check (including CORI and SORI) and drug screening.
STARTING DATE: Fall 2019 semester
SALARY: Minimum salary $44,874 - $77,836- actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
