The primary duty of this position is to direct the Department’s ACEND- accredited Dietetic internship (DI) program. In addition to program management, the DI Director will be responsible for teaching 6-9 semester hours of courses within the DI curriculum.
The DI Director is responsible for 1) assuring that all Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accreditation standards, policies and procedures will be met. 2) Facilitate student recruitment, advisement, evaluation and counseling, and 3) maintain timely communication and coordination with program faculty, preceptors and others involved in the program.

The Department of Nutrition Science within the College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina invites qualified applicants to apply for a position in the area of clinical dietetics at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to begin August, 2018.
The Department of Nutrition Science has 14 full-time faculty members to support an undergraduate program of nearly 200 students and a distance education graduate program of 50 students in addition to Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree programs. The Department of Nutrition Science houses ACEND- accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and the supervised dietetic internship programs (DI). Areas of research within the department extend across the lifespan to include metabolic dysfunction, obesity-related pathophysiology, immunity, food literacy, nutritional assessment of vulnerable populations, diet quality, weight management and disease prevention. Our faculty have strong collaborations with the College of Health and Human Performance, Nursing, School of Dentistry and Brody School of Medicine is a leader in obesity research, cardiovascular health, and endocrinology, and affords collaborative teaching/research opportunities.
