Essential Job Duties:
The Program Manager will play a central role in multiple projects addressing the goal of integrating computational thinking and computer science into the K-12 curriculum. The projects involve online, face-to-face and blended professional learning programs; curriculum development; school and district planning support; education policy; and the engagement of private sector businesses. The responsibilities of the Program Manager will be multifaceted, reflecting the different work required across the planning, development, implementation, analysis and dissemination phases of the work.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Work directly with project leads, team members, and Institute staff to provide day-to-day management of the initiative.
Coordinate and communicate with funders, partners, participants, consultants, project staff and others involved in the work.
Contribute to the design and implementation of professional learning programs for teachers, administrators, and volunteers.
Work directly with school and district leaders to support planning for curriculum integration and teacher professional development.
Coordinate with researchers on the evaluation of programs and on conducting research studies.
Present and write about the program for multiple audiences, including educators, parents, researchers and policymakers.
Work with business leaders to engage support for the programs.
Contribute to preparing proposals for funding to state and federal agencies, private foundations, and private sector businesses.
This position is contingent on continued funding.
Contribute to related collaborative projects and efforts at the Friday Institute
Other duties as needed to ensure success of the overall program and individual projects.
Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
Strong oral and written communications skills
Experience working with technology-enabled teaching and learning tools and environments.
Experience with the design and implementation of K-12 professional development programs.
Experience working as or with school and district leaders.
Experience coding and/or background in computer science.
