Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology Operations or designee, the Web Specialist provides technical support for the College's portfolio of websites. The Web Specialist position is responsible for the development, enhancement and maintenance of the main College website.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Build and maintain the College's websites using Wordpress as well as other required CMS. 2.Manages all technical aspects of the Content Management Systems (CMS) that are used for the College's websites as well as the hosting platforms and other related tools, applications and databases. 3.Evaluates, recommends and selects CMS modules, as well as other plugins or tools for desired functionality. 4.Ensures high-performance and availability of College websites. 5.Works in coordination with the College's content administrator to implement any ADA (usability and accessibility) compliance requirements to ensure all web related initiatives adhere to the state and federal guidelines. 6.Supports and assists with the implementation of website related training initiatives. 7.Prepares and implements web-related technical specifications and documentation. 8.Works closely with College constituencies to support web initiatives. 9.Supports the research and preparation of requirements and project planning of web related activities, as required. 10.Implement Google Analytics utilizing SEO best practices. 11.Works collaboratively with all team members within the College community in the integration of graphic, audio, video and other related media. 12.Responds to user phone calls, walk-ins, and web-related Help Desk service requests. 13.Prepare routine, special, and ancillary reports as required. 14.Performs other related duties as required.
1.Associate's degree. 2.Demonstrated experience related to the responsibilities of this position. 3.Ability to design, manage and maintain enterprise level CMS solutions. 4.Knowledge and experience in building responsive websites using WordPress. 5.Knowledge of PHP, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3. 6.Experience with developing new as well as customizing existing Wordpress modules, themes, functions, and code base. 7.Ability to setup, configure, manage, and perform all phases of web application development, testing, and deployment. 8.Ability to stay on schedule and produce results in a timely manner. 9.Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment. 10.Strong orientation to customer service. 11.Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. 12.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
