A postdoctoral position is available in the department of chemistry at Syracuse University. The research mainly focuses on the synthesis and characterization of genetically-encoded post-translationally modified hybrid biomaterials. This research will entail synthetic chemistry, molecular cloning, protein expression, and soft-matter characterization. Experience with, manipulation of air-sensitive compounds using Schlenk-line, soft matter characterization using scattering (DLS, SLS) and microscopy (TEM, SEM) are desirable. The position starts spring 2019.
