The Mechanical Engineering Department invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor position beginning April 2019. The Naval Academy is a federally funded institution dedicated to developing and educating young men and women for careers as Naval and Marine Corps officers. The USNA undergraduate engineering program is ranked as one of the best in the nation utilizing world-class engineering laboratories that include a Center for Materials Characterization and a dedicated electrochemistry/corrosion laboratory. Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate and advise in design and execution of Materials Science research projects in collaboration with Naval Academy faculty and in support of institutional research efforts.
Local travel to the Naval Research Laboratory (Washington, DC) to execute research as needed.
Publish and present work at conferences.
Mentor midshipmen research or capstone projects as appropriate.
